Meet the team
Jill is the manager and has worked at the nursery since 2004. In 2008 Jill completed her NVQ 4 training and became the nursery manager. Jill is also the Health and Safety officer and is responsible for staff training and monitoring.
As a mother to a young child herself Jill is in touch with the needs and the interests of the children. Jill plans most of the nursery events and enjoys being hands on working directly with the children on a daily basis.
When not in work Jill enjoys spending time with her family and enjoys days out in the countryside.
Jill Says “Hope Green is a fantastic company to work for and the team of girls are brilliant. The nursery is a family run business and you really do feel like you are part of a family here. Most of all I get a great sense of achievement and feeling of well-being when I help others to succeed in their career. Working with the staff and children here is a delight”.
Rachael is the Officer In Charge and has worked at the nursery for many years. She is qualified in childcare to NVQ Level 4 and has many years of experience working in a variety of different child care settings. Rachael has three grown children of her own which still keep her busy!
Rachael’s special interest is working in the garden. She enjoys taking the children to the allotment to do planting and to investigate the wildlife. Rachael also takes the older children on outings to the garden centre and the local library.
At home Rachael enjoys spending time outdoors, walking her dog, going camping and tending her own garden. She also keeps fit training at the gym 4 times a week.
Rachael will always go the extra mile at work. Rachael says “Hope Green nursery is fantastic! The nursery is based in such a great location. The outdoor facilities are amazing and I just adore working with the children. Working in this career means there is never a dull day.
Hannah is the Pre-school room leader and specialises in Care and Education for the Over 3s. Hannah qualified as a CACHE Level 3 nursery nurse at Yale College and joined the team in 2013. As a room leader Hannah is responsible for the Early Years planning and the overall organisation of the Pre-school room.
Hannah is artistic and enjoys getting the children involved in arts and crafts. She also enjoys organising fancy dress events for the children to enjoy and gears the staff up to join in with the fun.
At home Hannah enjoys spending time with her husband, socializing with friends and family and taking her dog Max for a walk. She enjoys glamping and the occasional beach holiday.
Hannah says “I have always wanted to work with children and particularly enjoy working with the older age range. The children constantly amuse me with their funny stories and I enjoy the conversations I have with them”.
Ceri joined the team in 2009. She is qualified in childcare to NVQ Level 3 and is dedicated to helping the children develop and grow. Ceri has worked in all three rooms of the nursery and has experience with all age groups.
Ceri is the social events organiser and takes the lead with organising team building activities and events. Ceri’s bubbly character shines and she is popular with the children and staff. Ceri is also a wiz on the computer and has been working on involving the children with I.T and basic computer skills.
Ceri says “I want to help the children develop to the best of their ability and I want to make sure they have fun during their time here with us. Hope Green is a fun and friendly place to be. I enjoy meeting new people and forming relationships with the children”.
Paula joined the team in 2010 and is qualified in childcare to NVQ Level 3. Paula is also the kitchen supervisor and works with the team to ensure we provide a healthy and balanced diet for the children to enjoy. Paula helped the nursery gain the Tiny Tums award and involves the children in baking activities and menu planning.
When Paula isn’t busy working at Hope Green she enjoys baking lots of delicious creations for the staff to enjoy! Paula’s nickname is Mary Berry. Paula also enjoys travelling and in her spare time helps to fund raise for local charities.
Paula says “I like to treat all of the children as individuals and get to know their individual personalities. The children are very precious and I love working with them. I like to make them nice treats to enjoy and love seeing them smile.”
Leah is a junior member of the team who is currently qualified to NVQ Level 3 in childcare and has completed her first aid training. Leah has a fun personality and a great sense of humour which is always great when working with children.
Away from work, Leah enjoys socialising with friends and spending time with the children in her family. Leah comes from a big family and has nieces and nephews that she likes to take for days out. Leah is also into fashion and enjoys shopping.
Leah says “Hope Green is a caring, loving nursery. I particularly enjoy working with the children and getting involved in creative and messy play. I am enjoying my training and looking forward to progressing in my career”.
Carol is a senior member of the team and has been at Hope green nursery since 2005. She is qualified to NVQ Level 3 in childcare. Carol has many years of experience in the care industry and has previously worked with the elderly.
Carol is the baby room leader and plans all the fun that takes place in this room. She has a fun personality and always has the babies giggling.
Carol is our primary First Aider and has attended a four day intensive training course.
Carol Says “I connect with children and feel a great sense of accomplishment in helping children achieve their goals and enjoy their time at the nursery”.
Joanne joined the team in September 2018. Joanne is qualified to NVQ level 3 and has over 5 years experience looking after babies and young children.
Joanne is a keen Harry Potter fan and is interested in films. In her spare time Joanne enjoys visiting theme parks and recently enjoyed a trip to Disney Land! At home Joanne enjoys spending time with her Great Nephew.
Joanne says “Since starting work at Hope Green Nursery and I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting the team, they are all fantastic. I love interacting with the children and enjoy creative time and sensory time sessions.”
Angela joined the team in January 2019. Angela has a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies and an Honours Degree in Education Studies. She also has a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
In her spare time Angela enjoys being creative and particularly enjoys drawing cartoon characters. Angela has a daughter who she enjoys spending time with and enjoys taking her horse riding.
Angela says “Hope Green is a very homely nursery and is set in a beautiful location. I love spending time with the children and I am keen to aid their development through educational activities. I feel planning activities and developing the children are my strong points.
Lauren is a qualified member of staff who completed her NVQ Level 3 in 2018. Lauren enjoys working with the Pre-school aged children and delivers the Early Years Education in this group.
Lauren enjoys being outdoors with the children, helping to create a fun and interesting environment in which the children can learn and develop.
When not in work Lauren enjoys keeping active and improves her fitness at the gym. Lauren is also keen to organize and take part in fundraising events to support Alder Hey children’s hospital.
Lauren says “I enjoy working with children and finding out about their interests. I feel it is very important to listen to each and every child and to form strong relationships with the children and their families”.
Alesi is known to the children and staff as ‘Lacy’. Lacy is a qualified member of staff who completed her NVQ Level 3 training in January 2016.
When working with the children Lacy enjoys bringing out the children’s creative side. Lacy enjoys craft activities and encouraging the children to get messy in the paints!
Outside of work Lacy enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and walking. Lacy is into fitness and often takes part in charity events such as the Race for life.
Lacy says “Hope Green Nursery is a lovely place to be. The staff are great and the children are so much fun! I love that the nursery is small and it means I can get to know the children and their families well.”
